After a spectacular performance at the Rio 2016 Olympics, U.S. gymnast Laurie Hernandez, like her fellow teammates, has grabbed the attention of the entire nation. And now, she is about to capitalize on her newfound fame by partnering with one of the biggest brands in America.
Just days after winning the silver medal on the balance beam, Hernandez has landed her first major endorsement deal with Procter & Gamble. Specifically, she will be the newest ambassador for Crest and Orgullosa, a P&G campaign that celebrates and empowers Latinas.
As only the second Latina to make the U.S. Olympics gymnastics team in over 30 years, Hernandez has become a role model for many young girls in the Hispanic community. P&G recognizes the impact she is making and they believe that she will represent a “new wave of Latinas who are reshaping the face of America with pride”.
“Olympian Laurie Hernandez has inspired people around the world through her talent, personality, and amazing smile,” P&G Chief Brand Officer Marc Pritchard said in a statement. “We welcome Laurie to the P&G family and we’re so proud to support her as a role model for the strength and power of Latinas and their families.”
Now the talented 16-year-old gymnast will be turning heads not just with her impressive routines but with her big beautiful smile as well.
