Draymond Green’s confidence seems to have no bounds, as we learned Sunday before the All-Star game when he boldly claimed that the Golden State Warriors would win the NBA Finals this year.

“I said I think we’re gonna win a championship,” Green told Vince Carter, Jalen Rose, and TNT’s Adam Lefkoe. “But I lied. We are going to win a championship. That’s what’s going to happen.”
A bold statement for a team sitting on the fringe of .500 at 28-27 heading into the second half of the season. However, with the addition of superstar forward Jimmy Butler, the trajectory of this team’s season has shifted.
This morning on ESPN’s Get Up, Miami Heat legend Udonis Haslem shot down any hope that Draymond Green and the Warriors could contend for a title this season.
“There’s no way they win a championship this year,” the three-time champion said. “But what I will say is adding Jimmy Butler has unlocked Steph Curry to a tremendous level. Now he’s actually leading the team in points, he’s leading the league in field goals, and three-pointers made since the trade. So yes, he raises the level of Steph Curry, unlocks him, but this is not the year for them.”
