Ronda Rousey is having one amazing year. She won the ESPY award for Best Female Athlete, made appearances in the huge 2015 blockbusters Furious 7 and Entourage, published her own autobiography which became a New York Times Best Seller, and, as many of us witnessed, she destroyed Bethe Correia in 34 seconds at UFC 190 last Saturday. The list of her accomplishments goes on and on. Now, the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion is adding to that list by becoming the star of her own biopic. On the heels of her recent success and growing fame, Paramount Pictures has decided to acquire the rights to her autobiography “My Fight/Your Fight”, which came out this past spring, and create a movie about Rousey’s life.
Rousey will star in the movie as well as have a role in producing it. The film will focus on the many hardships she has faced on her journey to fame and glory, including losing her father at eight years old, dealing with love and relationships, and training for some of the toughest fights she has fought throughout her life. No details have been released yet on when this project will start but acclaimed screenwriter Mark Bomback is already working on adapting the book to film.
If it’s anything like the many projects Rousey has embarked on lately – whether it’s acting, writing, or fighting – this movie will be a guaranteed success. Will you go see this movie when it comes out?
