One day after being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, UFC fighter Jon Jones was arrested for domestic abuse.
The UFC star was arrested at 5:45 a.m. Friday morning at a Las Vegas resort. He was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and felony tampering with a vehicle, though it remains unclear who the victim is and what transpired.
Jones remains in the Clark County Detention Center, where he is held on an $8,000 bond.
The 34-year-old had his first fight with Alexander Gustafsson inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on Thursday night. During his appearance on the red carpet, Jones said he was “in a good place” and was looking forward to fighting in 2022. UFC president Dana White, who appeared with him during the event, says that news of Jones’ latest legal trouble was “not even shocking anymore” and says bringing him to the city brings out the worst in him.
“When we bring him here, it’s almost expected. You can’t even get him in Las Vegas for less than 12 hours to induct him into the Hall of Fame. It’s a problem. This guy’s got a lot of demons, man. A lot of demons,” White stated.
Jones has a long rap sheet littered with hit-and-run, battery, and DUI charges.
He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Las Vegas Justice Court Saturday at 1:30 p.m. It
