The United States Has More COVID-19 Deaths Than Any Other Country

More than 600,000 people lost their lives to COVID-19 in the United States.

John Hopkins University reported on Tuesday that the U.S. death toll was 600,012.

The U.S. has the most COVID-19 deaths than any other country. Brazil, India, and Mexico follow closely behind. According to NPR, about 375 reported deaths were reported daily in the U.S. — a big change from January, when the average number of deaths per day was 3,000.

The COVID-19 vaccine, which started being distributed in December 2020, has lowered the number of COVID-19 deaths.

Many states are moving to lift all COVID-19 restrictions. California, the first state to shut down, has lifted all of its coronavirus restrictions.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 144,9583,252 Americans are fully vaccinated. Vermont has the highest percentage of fully vaccinated residents.
