Remember Brianna Brochu, the former University of Hartford student who smeared a used tampon on her roommate’s backpack and meddled with other items that belonged to her roommate? She won’t be getting any jail time and will be getting a privileged probation.

Brochu will only have to participate in 200 hours of community service, which includes 50 hours at a literacy center located in the Greater Hartford, and 50 at a special service group. Upon Brochu’s completion of said hours, her charges of breach of peace and criminal mischief will be wiped clean from her criminal record.

Her old roommate, whom she tormented, Chennell “Jazzy” Rowe has agreed to these terms. According to Vibe.com, Brochu also won’t be able to contact Rowe and will have to undergo a mental health evaluation. Rowe says Brochu’s “acts of hate” have made it difficult for her to trust others, but says “By giving her [Brochu] this second chance, I hope she will change her ways and finds love for all mankind no matter what race.”

Thomas Stevens, who is acting as Brochu’s attorney, has apologized on behalf of the Brochu in fear that if Brochu did it would end up in a civil litigation.
