A University of Nebraska-Lincoln fraternity’s housing and operations have been suspended over a sexual assault allegation that was reported.
Chancellor Ronnie Green stated that the fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, AKA Fiji, was already on probation after violating the university’s policy when the assault was reported.
Around 1,000 people surrounded the fraternity Tuesday to protest the assault that allegedly took place at the frat house, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The announcement to suspend the frat came after.
The school is investigating the assault that was reported early Tuesday, University Police Chief Hassan Ramzah stated.
It was the 78th rape or attempted rape reported at the university since 2015.
