Authorities have confirmed the death of Memphis rapper Big Scarr.
Scarr, formally known as Alexander Woods, was pronounced dead Thursday. Relatives told TMZ Big Scarr overdosed on prescription pills at his girlfriend’s house in Memphis.
The 22-year-old was a member of Gucci Mane’s record label 1017 and was named on the 2022 XXL Freshman List.
He had songs with several artists, including Offset and Pooh Shiesty. He gained attention with his hit “SolcyBozy,” which features Shiesty, Foogiano, and Tay Keith.
He released his mixtape “Big Grim Reaper” early last year. It reached the top 25 on the Billboard charts.
Gucci Mane paid tribute to Scarr with a post saying, “I’m a miss you.”
