To celebrate Black Music Month, Urban One has announced a new podcast series, “For the Culture, A History of Black Music.”
The series will include six episodes that explore the impact Black music genres have on today’s music. A new episode will debut each Wednesday during June. The podcast will focus on various signature sounds, including Funk, Gospel, Trap and Hip-Hop, Philly Soul, Go-Go, and Chopped and Screwed. Several pioneers of each genre will be interviewed for the series.
“We are excited to share these interesting stories that have roots in several of our markets through podcasts as we celebrate Black Music Month,” said Colby Tyner, Vice President of Programming.
@GoAngie of “The Morning Hustle Show” will host “For the Culture, A History of Black Music,” which kicks off on Wednesday, June 2nd, with “The History of Gospel Music.” Listeners can catch the show on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify.
