Grammy-winning superstar Usher has suddenly cancelled his entire Australian leg of the Past Present Future tour, effectively scrubbing 12 shows set for November and December in Melbourne and Sydney. The announcement came via Ticketek, with promoter Live Nation stating:
“The promoter of Usher’s Australian tour regrets to advise that the scheduled shows to take place in November/December will no longer be proceeding.”
No reason was given for the abrupt decision, leaving fans questioning whether Usher will ever return after nearly 14 years away. But reassurance followed quickly. Live Nation confirmed “all ticket purchases will be fully refunded to the original payment method,” and that refunds may take “up to 30 days” to appear.
Earlier this year, in March, Usher teased his comeback with playful wordplay, posting on Twitter,
“I’m bringing the A to the AUS!! Australia, my Past Present Future tour is coming your way! Tickets for Sydney and Melbourne dates go on sale Friday 16 May, but you can get yours early in the fan presale starting Monday 12 May.”
High demand forced the addition of four extra shows, testifying to fans’ excitement. The Past Present Future tour, which launched in August 2024, has already made waves across the U.S. and Europe, featuring surprise guests like Stevie Wonder, Boyz II Men, Naomi Campbell, Estelle, Craig David, and LL COOL J. Usher hadn’t performed in Australia since 2010.
As of now, no rescheduled dates or alternate plans for the Australian leg have been announced, leaving fans wondering if Down Under will ever get a taste of Usher’s legendary performance again.
