Born on October 14, 1978, his career has spanned over three decades. The Atlanta star cemented himself as one of the greatest R&B artists of all time at an early age.  Bursting onto the scene in the 1990s with his 1994 self-titled debut. However, it was Usher’s 1997 album, “My Way,” that catapulted him to stardom, featuring the chart-topping hit “You Make Me Wanna.” He followed up with the critically acclaimed “8701” in 2001, a much more mature sound featuring iconic tracks such as “U Got It Bad” and “U Remind Me,” which earned him Grammy Awards.

His 2004 album, “Confessions,” remains one of the best-selling R&B albums in history, with classics like the club anthem “Yeah!” and breakup ballad “Burn.” Additionally, “Superstar” became one of the most adored records from “Confessions,” despite it not being an official single. This album would go on to become the highest RIAA-certified album by a male soloist in the 21st century, achieving 14 times platinum. “Confessions” earned three Grammys: Best Contemporary R&B Album, Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “My Boo” and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Yeah!”

Usher’s impact isn’t limited to music alone—he’s also a talented actor, philanthropist, and mentor. He founded the Usher’s New Look Foundation in 1999, which empowers youth through education and leadership development. In addition, Usher was a vocal coach on “The Voice” for seasons four and six, helping shape the next generation of talent.  With countless awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and a discography that is unmatched, Usher’s influence on music and culture is undeniable. Here are just a few of his timeless tracks that belong on your playlist.

“Hey Daddy”

“Burn”

“Confessions, Pt. II”

“Nice & Slow”

“U Don’t Have to Call”
