Whether your love language is physical touch or acts of service, Van Leeuwen has crafted the perfect pint for you. The ice cream company has launched five new flavors inspired by Dr. Gary Chapman’s The 5 Love Languages, available exclusively at Kroger stores just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The five love languages — gift-giving, words of affirmation, physical touch, quality time, and acts of service — were introduced by Chapman in his 1990s book to help people better understand their relationships. Over 30 years later, they remain a cultural touchstone, with fans still taking the test to discover their dominant love language.
Van Leeuwen has translated these love languages into delectable frozen treats:
- Hug Me Hazelnut Truffle (Physical Touch): A creamy blend of hazelnut ice cream with chunks of chocolate truffles for a nutty, indulgent bite.
- You’re My Brown Sugar Cookie Butter (Words of Affirmation): Brown sugar ice cream swirled with rich, flavorful cookie butter to make you feel cherished with every spoonful.
- Chocolate Strawberry Surprise (Gift-Giving): Sweet cream ice cream studded with chocolate chips and swirled with strawberry jam for a classic Valentine’s Day-inspired treat.
- Let’s Hang Out S’more (Quality Time): Sweet cream ice cream packed with chocolate chips, marshmallow swirls, and graham crackers to evoke cozy moments spent together.
- Blackberry Chip In (Acts of Service): A tangy blackberry sherbet loaded with chocolate chips, offering a refreshing twist on the classic dessert.
