Brooklyn-based ice cream maker Van Leeuwen and Kraft Heinz celebrate National Ice Cream Month and National Mac and Cheese Day with limited-edition macaroni and cheese flavored ice cream.
“We know that there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice cream. That is why we wanted to combine two of the most iconic comfort foods to create an ice cream with the unforgettable flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we all grew up with,” Emily Violett, a senior associate brand manager for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, said.
The cheesy treat is described as a “cool, creamy scoop of ice cream that brings that comforting, nostalgic feeling from a warm bowl of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.”
“As a big fan of Van Leeuwen, we knew they’d be the perfect partner to create this ice cream with us. Not only does it taste delicious, but it’s also made with high-quality ingredients and contains no artificial flavors, preservatives, or dyes just like our Kraft Macaroni & Cheese,” Violett said.
Van Leeuwen was founded in 2008 by Pete Van Leeuwen, Ben Leeuwen, and Laura O’Neill.
The Macaroni & Cheese flavored ice cream will be available online and at Van Leeuwen stores across the country. There are 23 scoop shops in New York City, Houston, and Los Angeles. The ice cream is also sold in select grocery stores.
The limited-edition Macaroni & Cheese ice cream will go on sale at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
A pint of Van Leeuwen and Kraft limited-edition Macaroni & Cheese French ice cream costs $12.
National Ice Cream Month is celebrated in July, and National Mac & Cheese Day is celebrated on July 14.
