Cecily Aguilar, the 22-year-old girlfriend of Specialist Aaron Robinson—the main suspect in Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen’s gruesome death—faces an 11-count indictment for her alleged role in concealing Guillen’s murder.
Aguilar was charged with tampering with evidence after she confessed to investigators that she helped her boyfriend bury Guillen’s body in April 2020.
Investigators believe Robinson, who later committed suicide, bludgeoned Guillen to death with a hammer, moved her body from an armory at Fort Hood, and then dismembered her before burying her remains on April 22.
Aguilar’s defense team filed a motion in an attempt to have her confession thrown out, claiming it was stolen after investigators violated her constitutional rights.
But the grand jury indictment filed Tuesday found that Aguilar “did unlawfully and knowingly combine, conspire, confederate, and agree with another person to corruptly alter, destroy, mutilate and conceal any record, document and other object, to wit: the body of V. G., and did attempt to do so, with the intent to impair its integrity and availability for use in an official proceeding.”
At the time of Guillen’s disappearance, Aguilar was dating 20-year-old Robinson, who officials identified as the main suspect in the case.
Investigators uncovered that Robinson was the last person to speak to Guillen before she disappeared, despite telling police that she left an arms room. He went off to be with Aguilar, who later backed up his story.
