If there’s one thing that Tyga is good at, it’s getting sued. The “Rack City” star is now being accused of ripping off Vans shoe concept.
Vans is coming after Tyga following the release of his “Wavy Baby” sneaker collaboration with MSCHF. The lawsuit does not appear to be a reach, as Tyga’s sneaker features not only the classic Vans design but also very similar packaging. Most Van’s sneakers come in a brown box wrapped in custom brown paper covered in red letters spelling out the company’s name. The Tyga edition sports the exact same presentation. However, the text on the paper spells out “Wavy Baby” in the same style.
The shoe itself is black with wavy white lines on the side, which at first glance, strongly resembles a new variation of Vans sneaker. The soles of the are rippled to look like waves. Social media also took notice. One user on Twitter wrote, “How much did Tyga pay his PR team to promote these cooked a** fake vans.”

complex having tyga as a guest for “sneaker shopping” when he’s currently getting sued by vans is quite the joke within itself.

In their lawsuit docs, Vans slams the rapper and MSCHF for “shamelessly” mocking their designs.
“The Wavy Baby shoe blatantly and unmistakably incorporates Vans’ iconic trademarks and trade dress,” the suit read. The company also revealed that they’d reached out to the rapper’s team and MSCHF to settle the matter privately. However, MSCHF did not agree to their terms, so the matter was not resolved.
Wavy Baby’s quickly sold out on the MSCHF website.
