Verizon is increasing its minimum wage to $20 for current and new employees.
Customer service, retail and inside sales workers at Verizon are all about to get a boost in their paychecks, as the phone and communications company just announced that it will be increasing workers’ wages to $20.
In addition, assistant managers who work on Sundays and holidays and are bilingual will get an added premium pay. Retail specialists and assistant managers will also receive a sign-on bonus offer.
“Our V Teamers give their best day in and day out to support our customers with all of their needs, which is why we want to make sure we support them as well,” said Krista Bourne, Chief Operating Officer for Verizon Consumer Group on the company’s Responsible Business website page. “These changes are the direct result of employee feedback and will help us remain an attractive employer in this competitive environment.”
The goal behind the new changes comes as the company says it wants to promote excellent customer service and experiences. “I’m confident these changes will help us attract and retain the very best talent, and allow us to continue to improve our customer experience,” said Bourne.
