A man who was shot during the fatal shooting of Nipsey Hussle has been arrested for gang ties to the late rapper.
TMZ reports police arrested Kerry Lathan, 56, at his halfway house for reportedly associating with a “known gang member,” which is believed to be Nipsey. On March 31, Lathan was shot in the back during the shooting and was immediately taken to the hospital. Lathan was treated and released but is temporarily in a wheelchair unable to walk due to his injuries.
“One of the standard conditions of parole is not associating with known gang members, and police claim Nipsey was a member of the Rollin 60’s Crips. Lathan is now in Men’s Central Jail in downtown L.A. where he waits as authorities try to revoke his parole,” reports TMZ. Reports show Nathan was out on parole after serving 20 years for murder.
Lathan is said to be the man who Nipsey was trying to pick up clothes for at his Marathon Clothing store. Nipsey was fatally shot at the age of 33. His funeral memorial service was held on Thursday, April 11, where an estimated 20,000 were in attendance.
