More is being revealed about the victims of a random shooting that took place in Memphis, Tennessee, on Wednesday.
One of the victims has been identified as 24-year-old Dewayne Tunstall, who was visiting with friends at a home east of downtown Memphis early Wednesday. The gunman, 19-year-old Ezekiel Dejuan Kelly, was also there and pulled Tunstall to the side before shooting him multiple times. Tunstall was a father and aspiring entrepreneur who planned to open a food truck business. The two were described as acquaintances, and they were not known to have any issues with one another.
Rodolfo Berger was shot twice inside of an Autozone store by Kelly, who live-streamed himself pulling the trigger. He remains in critical condition. Lakesha McGlathen was another victim who survived her injuries. The 44-year-old was shot in the leg near Norris Road and Interstate 240 as she and her father changed a flat tire. Sadly, 38-year-old Allison Parker, a nurse with Family Practice Center, did not make it. Kelly fatally shot the woman as he carjacked her at Poplar Avenue and Evergreen Street. He killed Parker in front of her 20-year-old daughter and fled with her vehicle. Corteria Wright, a 17-year-old, is thought to be Kelly’s final victim, having been killed around 8:55 p.m.
In total, three people were killed and three injured in a shooting spree streamed on Kelly’s Facebook page. He is known to have a violent past, having previously been sentenced to three years in prison for aggravated assault but only served about 11 months of his sentence. He was released on March 16th.
Kelly’s motive remains unclear.
