According to 13News Now, Norfolk police announced they are investigating a domestic assault at the JANAF Shopping Center that left a man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The dispute occurred Thursday afternoon when Bashira S. Tripp, 34, of Portsmouth struck a man with her car.
First responders received a call about the incident around 3:45 p.m. They later arrived at the scene in the 5900 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd, where the man was found lying on the ground motionless.
Bystanders, who filmed the assault, confirmed that Tripp intentionally ran the victim over with her car.
In the video, the woman shouted and cursed at the man, fussing about all the years she gave him. She was also seen spitting on the man while he was on the ground. She even went as far as picking up the car’s bumper and throwing it at him.
The unidentified man was later taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He remains in critical condition, as of 11 a.m. Friday.
Authorities arrested and charged Tripp with aggravated assault. She remains in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
