Vince Young, who was 3rd overall draft pick when he was drafted to the Tennessee Titans in 2006, is cutting his ties with the NFL. The pro-quarterback has not played an NFL game since 2011 and after signing to the Browns in May, he was dropped just 4 days later when the team signed Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. After being cut one too many times, Vince Young has come to grips that his pro-football career is over.
Vince Young made his retirement announcement on Saturday. “I’m retired,” Young told KXAN in Austin, Texas. “Unless we get a great opportunity, something guaranteed … I’ve already started moving forward. … It’s definitely official, I think, in my book.”
“I love the NFL, will love the game always but I’m kind of moving forward and moving on right now.”
Since being signed in 2006, Young has had stints with the Titans, Eagles, Bills, Packers and Browns. It definitely looks like it is time to just let go and let God.
