Vince Young, who once signed a $25.6 million NFL contract with the Tennessee Titans as a rookie in 2006 found himself broke and in need of a nearly 2 million dollar loan to get by in 2011. Hard to say what was the cause of his money woes, but the former college football star found himself borrowing money and now the company (Pro Player) that loaned it to him wants it back!
In 2011 “Pro Player” loaned Vince Young $1.876,876.88 but payments were not made on schedule and the company called in the loan.
In September 2012 Vince Young actually sued Pro Player claiming that he never received ANY money from this “loan” and that there was a “brazen scheme” concocted by his former business advisors, who sought to “secure loans using Young’s identity to satisfy their own personal debts and otherwise line their own pockets.” Sounds to me that he was basically saying that someone used his identity to take out a loan and Pro Player should have known better. Young has also sued Major Adams, his former agent, and business partner Ron T. Peoples.
Obviously that hasn’t gone anywhere because Pro Player is moving forward in their attempts to get their money back. On Monday, the constables visited Young’s Houston home this week to assess the value of his possessions so that Pro Play can perhaps seize them as part of their action to get their money back. Part of the agreement set out by the court is that he would be allowed to keep $60,000 worth of personal property but the rest would be up for public auction.
