Costco has gained some buzz online after social media users have discovered the wholesaler is offering an “apocalypse dinner kit.”
Popular content creator and cookbook author Jeffrey Eisner recently went viral after sharing his trip to Costco. During his visit, Eisner stumbled upon an emergency meal package called the Readywise 150 Serving Emergency Food Bucket, now referred to as an “apocalypse dinner kit.”
“Introducing the 150 Servings Emergency Preparedness Food Bucket: This meticulously curated package goes beyond just food – it’s about readiness in the face of uncertainty,” Costco’s website reads. “With 80 servings of hearty entrees & sides, 30 servings for nourishing breakfast, and an additional 40 drink servings, ReadyWise equips you for a range of situations.”
The food kits reportedly have a shelf life of 25 years. According to the description, the food buckets are created as a “long-term solution” rather than a “temporary fix,” that contains dehydrated and freeze-dried meals. Additionally, customers can snag one of these buckets for approximately $62.99 for 132 servings and $79.99 after the manufacture’s discount for 150 servings.
