Virginia Giuffre, known for bravely accusing Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, has died by suicide at 41.
Western Australian Police Force media liaison officer Shelby Bradley confirmed that emergency services found Giuffre unresponsive at her Neergabby home on Friday, April 25th. She was pronounced dead at the scene, with officials noting her “death is not suspicious.”
Giuffre’s family identified her in a statement. “Giuffre lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.” They honored her as “a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking” who “shone so bright” despite adversity. “The lights of her life were her children Christian, Noah, and Emily.”
“It was when she held her newborn daughter in her arms that Virginia realized she had to fight back against those who had abused her and so many others,” the statement continued. “There are no words that can express the grave loss we feel today… She was heroic…In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight. We know that she is with the angels.”
In 2019, Giuffre alleged that Epstein trafficked her to powerful men, including Prince Andrew, who has repeatedly denied the claims, saying, “I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever…I can absolutely, categorically tell you it never happened.”
Despite publicly declaring, “I am making it publicly known that in no way, shape or form am I suicidal,” Giuffre faced serious health struggles in early 2025 following a car accident.
