A Virginia lawyer is facing a count of sex trafficking minors for allegedly showering underage girls with cash and expensive gifts in exchange for sex and threesomes.
In a federal court in Alexandria Thursday, charges against Matthew Erausquin, a founding partner of the firm Consumer Litigation Associations, were unsealed. According to a Fairfax County Police affidavit, the 45-year-old suspect is accused of paying at least six girls, ages 16 and 17, to engage in sexual acts from June 2017 through at least Sept. 2019.
The suspect connected with some of his victims through the website seekingarrangement.com, which connects “sugar daddies” who are willing to pay “sugar babies” for their company and sexual activity. Even though the girls advertised themselves as 18, per website rules, authorities believe that he had reason to know the girls were minors, including the fact that one of them had braces at the time.
What’s more surprising is that he did learn some of the girls’ real ages after they turned 18 and was not surprised to discover they had been underage when they first engaged in sexual activity.
On November 16, an arrest warrant was issued for the lawyer, about six months after a high school student first reported him to authorities. She told police in May 2019 that Erausquin, who she speculated was in his 40s, paid two of his victims $1,000 for a threesome.
The investigation revealed that Erausquin had been in contact with girls from at least three different high schools. Authorities said he would goad them into sex with pricey presents, like Tiffany’s bags and cameras.
One of the girls involved with Erausquin was diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease following her interactions with the lawyer. She later had a mental breakdown as a result and required hospitalization.
