Buffalo Bills’ linebacker Von Miller has finally spoken out about the domestic violence charges leveled against him.
The NFL star asserted that the claims are entirely unfounded. Miller was hauled off to jail on November 30th in Dallas. While speaking with reporters, he maintained that he and his girlfriend, Megan Denise, encounter relationship challenges like any other couple but refutes the violent allegations made against him. Miller’s arrest report details disturbing actions, including gripping the woman’s neck, tearing out portions of her hair, and forcefully pushing her onto a sofa. The woman sought medical attention for her injuries, notably bruising on her neck. The two had reportedly been together for seven years.
“Never in any of my relationships that I’ve been in, never in my current relationship with my girlfriend, did any of those things happen,” he said, adding, “It is 100 percent false. It’s overblown.”
Miller has been allowed to continue playing as the case proceeds. However, he is confronting a serious legal battle, facing a third-degree felony for allegedly assaulting his pregnant partner. Potential consequences include a decade-long prison sentence and a $10,000 penalty. Denise, a licensed medical aesthetician, has also refuted claims that Miller assaulted her, though the evidence shows otherwise. In a 911 call, Denise can be heard telling an operator, “My boyfriend was choking me, hitting me, pulling my hair.” Nevertheless, the couple is expecting their third child together and seems to be handling their issues privately.
