The moment, captured in a video shared by TMZ, shows a skier shouting, “Hey, JD, how does it feel to be Putin’s puppet?” as Vance made his way through the resort at Sugarbush Mountain. The heckling came after Vance had already faced protesters lining the streets upon his arrival for the weekend getaway.
So far, Vance, Vermont Governor Phil Scott, and Sugarbush Mountain have not responded to requests for comment.

The confrontation comes just days after Vance and Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office. Following the meeting, Vance made waves by calling U.S. diplomatic trips to Ukraine “propaganda tours” and questioning whether Zelensky had even thanked America for its ongoing support.
While Vance’s ski trip was meant to be a break, the backlash suggests his foreign policy stance isn’t going unnoticed. With tensions high over U.S. involvement in Ukraine, this likely won’t be the last time he faces public criticism.
What do you think? Was the skier out of line, or is Vance’s stance on Ukraine fair game for public debate?
