Waffle House is stirring things up with a new addition for coffee lovers. The Georgia-based chain has introduced a canned cold brew, quietly rolling out the “Classic Blend Cold Brew” at select Atlanta locations. Described as “lightly sweetened with cream,” each can retails for $3.95 and is available at nine specific Waffle House spots in the metro area.
The new cold brew was first teased in an Instagram Story post on June 17th. It’s joined by the recently revived Strawberry Shortcake Waffle, a fan-favorite menu item from 2016 topped with strawberry gems, shortcake crumbles, and whipped cream.
This latest offering comes shortly after Waffle House made headlines by removing its controversial 50-cent egg surcharge. The fee, initially introduced in February due to the bird flu outbreak, was officially lifted on July 2. “Egg-cellent news…as of July 2, the egg surcharge is officially off the menu. Thanks for understanding!” the company announced on Twitter.
As of now, 70 bird flu cases have been confirmed in the U.S., prompting continued CDC monitoring.
