On Tuesday, at least six people were reported dead after the store manager opened fire inside a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia.
According to officials, the shootings occurred within an hour of the store’s scheduled closing time.
CNN reported that the gunman entered the break room and opened fire on other employees before turning the gun on himself.
He was identified later identified as 31-year-old Andre Bing of Chesapeake.
A spokesperson for Sentara Healthcare said five people were receiving treatment at the Sentara General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. The state of their condition was not immediately known.
Customers are being asked to stay away from the store during the investigation.
“We’re praying for those impacted, the community, and our associates. We’re working closely with law enforcement, and we are focused on supporting our associates,” the company said.
