The Golden State Warriors will have to push forward in the playoffs without their biggest star, at least for now. Stephen Curry has been ruled out for at least one week after suffering a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring during Game 1 of the team’s playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Curry was hurt in the second quarter of the Warriors’ 99-88 win on Tuesday. Following the game, he underwent an MRI, which confirmed the muscle strain. The team announced he will be reevaluated in a week, but no clear timetable has been set for his return. His availability will depend on how well he responds to rehab.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr emphasized that the team isn’t looking too far ahead and will focus on taking it game by game as they face the Timberwolves without their floor general.
With Curry out, Golden State faces a major challenge. The team will need to lean heavily on its supporting cast to stay competitive in a tough playoff series.
