Rapper Silento, best known for his 2015 viral hit “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” has been arrested and charged for an alleged attack on two strangers.
The incident occurred on Saturday in a stranger’s Los Angeles home.
Prosecutors say Silento walked into the home, which was unlocked, and began swinging a hatchet at two people. However, before the incident could escalate further, one of the residents disarmed him.
According to Billboard, Silento was looking for his girlfriend.
As a result, Silento, whose real name is Richard Lamar Hawk, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
According to reports, Silento was already out on bail at the time of the incident, after being arrested the day before for domestic violence in Santa Ana. In that incident, the 22-year-old was arrested for a domestic disturbance but later released on a charge of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
Now, according to jail records, he is being held on a $105,000 bond, and he’s set to be arraigned Friday.
However, if convicted, the rapper could be sentenced to up to six years in prison.
