Wendy Williams, the former queen of daytime talk, has spoken out about Diddy‘s recent arrest. Williams, who for years has criticized the disgraced music mogul, told The Daily Mail it was “about time” that Diddy faced legal scrutiny.
The Bad Boy Records founder is currently awaiting trial at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, facing serious charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and maintains his innocence.
“I’ve had so many people tell me, ‘Wendy, you called it,'” she told The Daily Mail. “Even my own family said the same thing.”
Williams, 60, who has been battling health issues of her own, opened up about the infamous video showing Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. “To see this video of [Cassie] being pummeled… it was just horrific,” she said. “But now you have to wonder—how many times did this happen? How many more women were victims? It’s just so terrible.”
Wendy’s history with Diddy has always been rocky. Back in the late ’90s, rumors swirled that Diddy had her fired from Hot 97 after she hinted at his personal life on-air. Charlamagne Tha God and former Bad Boy bodyguard Gene Deal have both confirmed Diddy’s influence in the situation, with Charlamagne stating, “Wendy got fired because Diddy had that power back then.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Wendy reassured her fans that she’s “doing good” following her diagnosis of aphasia.
