Over the last few months, Wendy Williams has been struggling with Graves disease, which forced a hiatus at the top of the year, a rigorous schedule, which led to a faint-spell in October, and most recently a shoulder injury, which, in turn, sparked rumors of self-medication.
However, in an effort to defend herself, Williams addressed and dispelled rumors of her decline in health, saying, “You all notice that I sit a lot. I love to have several seats.”
“I don’t just sit here. I’ve been sitting in the audience,” Williams continued. I sit to do demo projects as well. You know why? ‘Cause I want to. ‘Cause this is my show and this is how I want to do it. I bust my ass on this show every single day. There is not a talk show host day or night that does it better than me. I’m not running so hard anymore….It’s my party. Welcome to it. And in terms of how I’m feeling, I’m feeling swell.”
Despite Williams’ claim, sources tell Love B. Scott, it’s quite the opposite.
“She’s wobbly all the time, and has been cussing out Whoopi Goldberg behind-the-scenes-without Whoopi being anywhere near,” a source told the publication, doubling down on the concerns that Williams might be self-medicating. “[The staff] is routinely having to adjust to her health issues – I.e. not walking out for the beginning of the show, zoning out during segments, etc. They’re really embarrassed about the whole situation.”
But, according to the publication, the host’s health isn’t the only factor in the Gossip Queen’s recent change of pace. Sources say, her husband’s extramarital affair, in which Kevin Hunter reportedly purchased a Jersey home for his mistress down the street from Williams, has taken a toll on the host, so much so, that she’s even considering divorce.
“She’s allegedly pregnant and still living just down the street from their house,” a source said of Hunter’s alleged mistress. “Word around the show is that they’re going to divorce sometime now that Kevin has gone to college.”
