News of Wendy Williams entering some sort of rehabilitation facility ran rampant on the internet Thursday. Multiple outlets reported that the talk show guru was seeking help for drug addiction, while others claimed alcoholism was to blame. However, a representative for Williams says the rumors are not entirely true.
In a press release obtained by Baller Alert, Williams’ publicist Shawn Zanotti said that the 58-year-old was receiving treatment to address her “overall health issues.”
“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with ‘The Wendy Experience Podcast,'” Zanotti stated. She added that Williams was being tended to by “some of the best doctors in the world.”
Several weeks ago, Williams was spotted in New York City appearing dazed as she purchased alcohol, sparking chatter that she might suffer from addiction again. In the past, she has been open about her battle with cocaine. Adding insult to injury is that Williams has been diagnosed with Grave’s disease and lymphedema, and reports of her deteriorating health have left fans concerned in recent years.
The celebrity gossip queen has not made many public statements regarding her health other than assuring her fans that she was doing okay.
Hopefully, Williams will get the support she needs and emerge stronger than ever.
