Wendy’s is adding a new breakfast staple to its early morning menu this month.
On Tuesday, the 53-year-old fast food chain announced it’d be debuting its new Homestyle French Toast Sticks on August 15th at locations nationwide. The savory sticks will come with a side of maple syrup dipping sauce and can be purchased as a four-piece or six-piece a la carte option or as a meal with a drink and a side of seasoned potatoes.
The Wendy’s spin on French Toast Sticks are made with eggs and dipped in milk custard with a “hint” of vanilla.
Carl Loredo, chief marketing officer for The Wendy’s Company, is excited about the new breakfast offering and said the company is saving fans from “the boring and bland morning options that exist” at their competitors such as Burger King, which has offered French Toast Sticks since 1986. Several other fast-food restaurants also offer French Toast Sticks, including Sonic, Roy Rogers and Jack in the Box.
Customers who order French Toast Sticks using the app and their MyWendy’s™ account can earn points that can earn them free servings of the stick.
Wendy’s released its breakfast menu in 2020 and saw instant success with items such as the Honey Chicken Biscuit and Breakfast Baconator.
