Eyelash extensions or false lashes are a semi-permanent trend for women who may want a more dramatic effect, have naturally short lashes, always on the go, or for some that may suffer from hair loss. There’s several options to choose from when you’re shopping around for lashes; like synthetic, silk, and mink.
Lash Types:
– Natural lashes: A lot more delicate than other lashes, they’ll improve your length and thickness.
– Full lashes: These lashes are fuller and thicker than others. Full lash extensions have a dull and even shape giving you a more dramatic look for your girls night out and pictures.
– Individual lashes: These are a popular type to wear because they’re not time consuming and you can add as few as you’d like. The lashes come in different lengths and sizes.
– Long & short lashes: For ladies who like both sizes with a “pop” or slight pattern effect would love long and short lashes.
– Strip lashes: These are probably the most popular false lashes. They’re, for the most part, ready to wear and quick to apply. With the right adhesive, they will give you a full day’s wear.
What you need to know about application:
If you’re up for the trend of getting individual lashes applied, it’s important that you have a licensed professional do them for you. The wrong glue, or wrong installation method can do a number on your eyes. It’s also important to make your lash technician aware of any allergies you may have. Avoid getting your lashes done if you suffer from eye sensitivity, or have any type of eye disease.
When you’re applying your own lash extensions, it’s crucial that you buy the right type of adhesive. You’d completely ruin your lash experience if they continued to slip off, right?
There are some eyelash glues that are safe to use and less harmful, Georgie Beauty Faux Lash Adhesive and Duo Lash Adhesive. Be careful, when choosing your glue, not to use anything with formaldehyde.
Once your lashes are installed, it’s highly important to follow proper maintenance. Your lash technician should provide you with steps on properly cleansing your lashes and removing make-up. If you experience an infection or allergic reaction, see a doctor as soon as possible. In some cases infection is possible if bacteria collects due to wearing false/strip lashes for more than a day. If you don’t clean your eye properly, infections can also occur.
Once your lashes are ready to come off you can safely remove them with a organic coconut oil, virgin olive oil, makeup remover, and a hot steamed rag over your eyes. Be sure not to just rip your eye lashes off or you run the risk of removing your natural lashes in the process.
