Jen Psaki is reportedly stepping down from her role as Joe Biden’s White House Press Secretary to join MSNBC as an on-air talent.
According to a source close to the story, Psaki would be leaving to have her own show on NBC’s streaming service Peacock, Deadline reports. News about Psaki’s departure comes after the secretary had several talks with different networks, as she’d planned on leaving her role in the White House following her tenure. Deadline reports Psaki planned to leave this year.
“We don’t have anything to confirm about Jen’s length of planned service or any consideration about future plans. Jen is here and working hard every day on behalf of the President to get you the answers to the questions that you have, and that’s where her focus is,” said a White House official.
So far, there are no details on what exactly the show will be about or what is included in her deal with the network. Prior to her role as White House Press Secretary, she worked as a political commentator for CNN.
