Trump Administration Pushes for 20,000 National Guard Troops to Aid Nationwide Immigration Crackdown

Just hours after Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, controversy erupted when the Spanish-language version of the White House website disappeared without warning. The page, previously accessible at https://www.whitehouse.gov/es/, now shows a 404 error message reading “Not Found.” Visitors who click on the “Go Home” button on the error page are redirected to an image of Trump pointing at the screen with the caption, “America is back.”

The Spanish version of the White House site, a resource maintained under previous administrations to make government information accessible to Spanish-speaking Americans, was still operational on the morning of January 20, 2025. However, by the afternoon, the page was gone, leaving visitors puzzled and frustrated.

The sudden removal of the Spanish-language page has sparked criticism from advocacy groups, Spanish-speaking communities, and social media users. Many see the change as a deliberate move to distance the administration from efforts to embrace linguistic and cultural diversity.

Supporters of Trump, however, view the move as consistent with his “America First” agenda. Some argue that federal resources should be focused on English as the primary language of government communication, a sentiment that echoes policies Trump has promoted in the past.

Adding to the controversy is the message that appears after visitors click on the “Go Home” button from the 404 error page. Instead of redirecting to a standard homepage, users are met with a image of Trump pointing at the viewer with the text, “America is back.”

The Spanish-language White House page had been a vital tool for millions of Americans under previous administrations, providing Spanish translations of press releases, policy announcements, and important government resources. The site was also widely used by Spanish-speaking immigrants to access information about visas, public benefits, and naturalization processes.
