Controversial British YouTuber Oli London says they want a penis reduction surgery and wants it to be “100% Korean” sized.
London, who identifies as “transracial” and uses pronouns “they” and “them,” has undergone over 20 cosmetic surgeries and spent $250,000 to resemble Korean singer Park Ji-Min from the pop band BTS. In an effort to fulfill their complete transformation, London revealed to Newsweek on January 29th that they want to undergo penis reduction surgery to make themselves “100% Korean.”
Asian males have long been the target of disparaging remarks based on the belief that their penises are genetically smaller than those of other races. There is, however, no scientific evidence to back this claim.
London’s comments sparked outrage from Koreans, slamming his comments for being incredibly harmful.
Sandra Song, a Korean-American journalist, told Insider that London’s comments reaffirm racial stereotypes that “emasculate” Korean men and portray them as inferior.
Others did not take the comments seriously, such as Vietnamese-Chinese influencer Phat Ly. He also spoke with Insider and said that while penis size stereotypes do cause prejudice against Asian men, he strongly believes that London’s comments were nothing more than a “publicity stunt.”
London responded to the outrage by stating that he was having surgery based on the average penis size in Korea. However, he did not disclose what facts he based this size scale on.
