Extremist Carrying “White Privilege” Card Arrested For Making Pipe Bombs

A far-right extremist carrying a “white privilege” card has been charged after pipe bombs were found at a business.

Ian Benjamin Rogers of Napa, California, was apprehended on January 15th when law enforcement found pipe bombs in his office. On Tuesday, he was charged with possession of five pipe bombs. The 43-year-old is also being accused of threatening to bomb Democratic lawmakers. The extremist was carrying a “white privilege card trumps everything” mock credit card when he was arrested.

Also located in his office was a weapon safe, which held several guns in addition to the bombs. Other materials that could be used to make a bomb were found, such as black powder, pipes, end caps, and bomb-making manuals, including The Anarchist Cookbook, U.S. Army Improvised Munitions Handbook, and Homemade C-4 A Recipe for Survival.

At his home, officers discovered 49 guns with thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Rogers supported the “Three Percenters,” a paramilitary group that believes in anti-government and pro-gun ideology.

The court documents say that Roger claimed that the pipe bombs were only for entertainment. However, text messages sent to friends suggest that the man was looking to harm Democrats with them.

One text read, “We can attack Twitter or the democrats you pick.” Another one read, “I think we can attack either easily.” In a later message, Rogers blatantly confessed, “I want to blow up a democrat building bad.”

The United States Attorney’s Office Special Prosecutions Section will be prosecuting the case, in light of an investigation conducted by the FBI in conjunction with the Napa County Sheriff’s Office and the Napa Special Investigations Bureau.

“We allege that Ian Benjamin Rogers possessed homemade pipe bombs and the materials to make more. We draw a bright line between lawlessness and our constitutional freedoms. We will prosecute illegal weapons stockpiles regardless of the motivation of the offender,” U.S. Attorney David L. Anderson said in a statement on Thursday.

Rogers is being held in state custody. His bail is set to $5 million.
