Boca Raton police have arrested a white woman for reportedly slapping an 11-year-old Black kid and calling him a racist slur after his go-kart hit hers at a Florida amusement park. She is currently facing felony child abuse charges.
According to court records, Haley Zager, 30, and the young child were both driving go-karts at the Boomers amusement park on Saturday night when the two accidentally collided. Afterward, Zager confronted the boy in front of multiple Boomers employees, hit him in the face, and used a racist slur to justify the slap to other onlookers.
When cops arrived, Zager admitted to hitting the child, whose injuries resulted in a swollen eye, but denied any use of any racial slur. During a search of the 30-year-old woman, police said that they found a pill bottle in her underwear and charged her with illegal possession of prescription drugs.
On Monday (Aug.24), Zager was released on her recognizance. Her public defender has yet to respond to an email seeking comment on Wednesday.
