For fans who never got the chance to experience Whitney Houston live in concert, not to fear. Her estate is bringing her hologram to Las Vegas.
Houston’s estate announced “An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Concert,” which will be a residency at Harrah’s Las Vegas. Concert goers will experience a virtual image of the legendary singer, as well as her iconic vocals backed by a live band, background vocalists, and dancers delivering some of her most famous records, such as “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “The Greatest Love of All.”
Houston’s estate partnered with Base Hologram for the concert series, which has been in the works since 2019.
Base Hologram CEO Brian Becker said in a statement that working with Houston’s family to present her in hologram form was “an honor” that will “resonate with longtime fans and new generations alike.”
Pat Houston, the sole executor of her estate, says that “An Evening with Whitney” is another chance for fans to “relive and celebrate the talent that we were so lucky to receive for more than three decades.”
Tickets for the concert will go on sale Friday, July 23rd, with the production debuting on October 26th.
In addition to the residency, the estate is planning a complete tour and musical with the hologram. An album of unreleased Houston tracks is also in the works.
Elsewhere in Whitney Houston news, the inaugural episode of ABC’s new series, “Superstar,” will highlight the singer and her contributions to music. The special will feature interviews with those closest to her, such as Brandy, Bobby Brown, and Chaka Khan. The show will air on August 11th at 10 p.m.
Houston passed away on February 11th, 2012, from accidental drowning in a Beverly Hills hotel room.
