Ladies, have you been seeing an influx of men complaining that women tolerate things from Ballers that they wouldn’t tolerate from the Average Joe? Well, believe it or not, there is truth to the statement and though it’s not fair, hear me out as I explain it to you. Prepare to verbally disagree with everything I say, while mentally agreeing with each word.
Let’s just start with the obvious. Money and status = Power. Just like rich people can get away with things in society, they can get away with a lot more at home. Especially if they’re the breadwinner. You tell yourself “I would never let a man cheat on me!” when deep inside you really mean you would never let a broke man cheat on you. Why? Because shiny things are pretty and nothing says ‘I love you’ like the fabulous new lifestyle you have gotten accustomed to. Keep it real, money buys you more “baby I’m sorry’s” and they’re always nicer when they come in the form of a new car, shiny piece of jewelry or a Celine bag. Let’s not forget the level of control a person has when they are much wealthier than their significant other. To an extent, everyone can be bought. It’s okay, you don’t’ have to admit it out loud.
Let’s not forget that because you are with a Baller, you have already come to the realization that he is going to participate in unfavorable activity. It coms with the territory. For some reason women expect a man who’s not as financially well off to be a little more humble. He’s held to a higher standard. She expects him to be ready to settle down, become a family man and end all of the childish games he’s been playing. She assumes a Baller, however, still has a lot more foolishness to get into, a lot more parties to attend, a lot more trips to take, and with every bottle popped in the club she knows a new Groupie is watching. She knows it and she is reluctantly (or not) accepting of it.
If there’s one thing we know for certain it’s that you can pay your way out of anything. That’s not just in relationships, but in life. It’s the reason we all strive to be Ballers ourselves. The lifestyle and the power are perks that come with a certain financial status. Those perks can often outweigh our better judgement.
