This is such a sad story. The new wife of former NFL Star Chris Draft died of lung cancer last Tuesday, although she wasn’t a smoker.
Lakeasha Monique Rutledge was a former Charlotte Hornets cheerleader that was working at an Atlanta pharmaceutical company when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. This is also around the time she met Chris Draft.
Draft wed his fiancé Lakeasha in a lovely ceremony last month in Atlanta. She was visibly ill and had to be escorted down the aisle in a wheelchair. Even though her frail body was by then riddled with cancer, the stunning bride rose from the chair to walk the last few steps, Sporting News reported.
I think it’s absolutely beautiful that he would stick by the love of his life, even marrying her in her last days. That is true love. Check out the wedding video below.
