Following the slap heard ’round the world, repercussions have been pouring in for Will Smith. Now, work on his upcoming project, Bad Boys 4, has reportedly halted. The actor has issued several apologies since slapping Chris Rock at the Academy Awards over the comedian’s joke about Jada Pinkett Smith. He subsequently resigned from the Academy, and they will discuss further disciplinary action at a board meeting later this month.
And now, Smith’s actions have reportedly put some of his future projects in jeopardy. The Hollywood Reporter reported that Netflix allegedly backed away from Fast and Loose. Despite Smith receiving a portion of the script, the outlet also says that Bad Boys 4 has been placed on hold.
Smith’s Apple TV+ movie, Emancipation is currently in post-production and scheduled to be released sometime in 2022. No formal release date has been announced, and it is unclear if the project is in jeopardy post-slap.
