A rep for Will Smith denies the actor’s high-powered talent agency considered dropping him after he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars.
According to a CAA spokesperson, “there is no truth” to the report. The rep said it “simply never happened.”
The reports originated from a Daily Beast story which reported that The Creative Artists Agency’s Bryan Lourd, Richard Lovett, and Kevin Huvane, were left in a bind after their most bankable star was left undesirable, despite picking up the industry’s biggest award for “King Richard.” However, CAA denied any such moves to give Will the boot were made.
Smith has been in the hot seat since slapping comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
