It’s the match everyone was waiting for and two of the biggest legends in women’s tennis, the Williams sisters, will square off in the 2018 U.S. Open.

After defeating Carina Witthoeft, tennis champion Serena Williams is into the third round of the U.S. Open, where she will face a familiar competitor: her sister, Venus Williams.

Serena, the 17th seed, and Venus, the 16th seed, have competed against one another 29 times, with this year’s U.S. Open match marking the 30th.

The Williams Sisters rivalry has seen many swings in momentum, with Serena winning three straight before Venus beat her at Indian Wells earlier this year, 6-4, 6-4.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Overall, Serena leads with 17 wins against Venus’ 12. Serena’s last win over Venus was in the final of the 2017 Australian Open. In Grand Slam matches, Serena led Venus, 10-5.

The tennis superstar sisters, who were born less than two years apart, grew up training, playing, and yes, competing against one another as two stars among the best of the best in the game.
