Willow Smith has opened up about her anxiety again on the latest episode of Red Table Talk.
Willow told her mother, Jada Pinket-Smith, and grandma Adrienne Banfield-Norris about what it’s like dealing with anxiety and how she feels when she’s overwhelmed.
“Four days ago, I was having extreme anxiety,” the 20-year-old said. “I couldn’t talk, I had to just cocoon and like be with myself for a moment.”
“That was so important because it would have been so much more intense if I had been looking to you to be like, ‘Help me!'” she said to her mother. “And then, when I was ready, I opened the cocoon.”
“There’s shame, there’s guilt, there’s sadness and confusion,” she continued. “And then you don’t even want to talk about it because you’re like, ‘I feel crazy, and I don’t want them to think I’m crazy so I’m just not gonna say anything.'”
Jada chimed in to say that “self-soothing is a miracle worker”.
Willow has previously spoken about her anxiety, revealing two years ago that after her hit song ‘Whip My Hair’ came out, she hit a low and started cutting herself.
