In a criminal complaint on September 11, police found a woman over the kitchen stove. She had been shot with a .380 handgun, and her brother had confessed to the crime.
According to a CNN affiliate WSIN, a child was in the home attending online classes when the shooting occurred. The students then heard the gunshots, and the teacher called 911.
In the complaint, the victim’s sister had said the brother was ‘Talking crazy’ the day before. She then said she had awoken to the sound of five gunshots, and when she went downstairs, the brother had said, “I’m on my way to the police to turn myself in.”
When the suspect arrived at police headquarters, he told the desk sergeant, “his sister no longer existed,” and that he shot her with the .380 handgun.
The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Michelle Blackmon, a Milwaukee pastor. However, the suspect has not been identified by MPD.
The suspect was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless homicide with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm after police say they found a gun of the same make and model in the suspect’s home.
According to WISN, the judge has ordered the suspect to go under a mental evaluation, and the doctor’s report will be reviewed by October 5th.
