An Ohio woman is behind bars after cutting off a woman in traffic, pulling her out of the car, and beating her with a hammer in front of the woman’s 5-year-old twins.
Jamela Chatman, 27, was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery.
Police responded to calls around 12:50 p.m. on Saturday of a woman being beaten with a hammer. The victim told officers that Chatman cut her car off and forced her to stop.
Chatman proceeded to drag the victim out of her car and beat her with her fists and a hammer. An unidentified female passenger from Chatman’s car tried to take the woman’s children out of the vehicle. She claimed she was trying to take them out of harm’s way.
Before leaving, Chatman took the victim’s keys. She then made a Facebook live video bragging about the incident. Police were able to locate Chatman’s home address and arrested her. They were able to recover the hammer, but not the keys.
The victim suffered injuries on her arm and head as a result of the beating. She declined medical attention.
Chatman was scheduled to be arraigned sometime on Monday.
