An unidentified woman in the UK fell out of a car window and onto a busy highway while hanging out of the window to make a Snapchat video, UK authorities reported.
Apparently, she was hanging from the window while the vehicle was driving on the M25 expressway.
“It is only by luck she wasn’t seriously injured or killed,” the Surrey police said.
A picture of the car’s open window was posted on their Twitter account, alongside the hashtag #nowords.
CNN reports that when a user asked if officers explained the dangers of the attempt to the woman, the police replied: “Every chance they worked it out before we spoke to them about it!”
Between 2011 through 2017, there have been roughly 259 social media fatalities due to people taking selfies, according to a study published in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care.
India ranks first among selfie-related deaths. Russia, the US, and Pakistan follows behind. Victims are majority men (72%) and are under the age of 30.
According to the news outlet, a family of four drowned at a dam in India after trying to capture a picture.
Be careful people.
